The ability to read and write is critical to personal freedom and the maintenance of a democratic society. At Literacy Volunteers of Orange/Athol (LVOA) we offer tutoring services for adult learners and support and training for volunteer tutors.
LVOA is committed to
Enabling adults in need of basic literacy skills to achieve their potential through one-to-one free instruction that is student centered
Training, supervising, and supporting LVOA volunteer tutors and learners
Strengthening and improving the organization's capacity to provide free literacy instruction and services to adults in our community
Who we are
LVOA is an affiliate of Literacy Volunteers of Massachusetts. LVM trains volunteers who provide free, confidential and individualized tutoring to adults in basic literacy and English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).
What we offer
We provide student-focused tutoring in Basic Reading and ESOL for adults 16 and over. Please call or e-mail if you are interested in becoming a student or a tutor.
